The ladies' room where I work has 16 stalls. I really really hate it when I've entered a stall, and someone comes and occupies the stall right next to me. I like my privacy, and I've been known to move stalls just so that I can get it. Or I wait until the other person has finished and then I take care of my business.
Does this bug anyone else, or am I just strange?

Same here and isn't that just too weird? (that they'd have all those stalls to choose from and they pick one next to someone else? as opposed to feeling the same as you, heh) seriously weird? sheesh.
I have no idea what "normal" is in a situation like this. By the time I've radioed for backup so I can leave my desk, and I've actually made it to the loo, Attila the Hun could be hollering in there and I wouldn't notice unless he was calling me "Mommy". [One of the more practical byproducts of having reared five kids in a thousand square feet or less.]
I only go to one stall on either side of the wall and my favorite is because its a good one I like I don't care if somone next as long as they Not peeking I am good
We only have two stalls at work but I am totally with you on your dilemma (if we had more) - I always use the one closest to the wall too and it has an awesome flusher that literally sounds like a jet plane taking off.
oh yeah i want to be in the stall that sounds like a jet plane! i once heard that Japanese women wasted lots of water while using the facilities, because they would flush to mask "unladylike" sounds. once youve sat next to the Queen of Artemisia in a two-hole outhouse during a week-long war, you get over it. (btw, not my personal story, but a friend's. and wow can she tell a story!)
